Well, I know for me and my family, this March has truly been a month of madness.
I feel like one bad thing has been happening after the next. I've been finding myself in complaint and vulnerable this month. At the beginning of the month is when I found out my baseball of a cyst (words from the doctor) had arrived. It has been a painful, sad, frustrating situation for me- and definitely for Cam, as he has been helping me through it. Last week when I was on my way for another check up to see if I need to get surgery to remove the cyst, I got rear ended. I was pretty shaken up, and Cam came to my rescue.
Ya know, I could go on and on about the pain I've been in, or this or that- but the main reason I am bringing this up, is because it has really made me think a lot. It has really humbled me. After I got rear ended, I was super upset, and frustrated. Later that day, I realized how blessed I am. I am so blessed because I was OK after the accident. I am so blessed because my cyst isn't deadly or cancerous. I am so blessed because I have a husband who comes to me in any moment of need, who gets up in the middle of the night while I'm crying in need of pain pills.
My heart has been aching so much this month, not just because I have definitely used up my 3 strikes with my baseball cyst or being scared to take the pain pills because they make me barf- but because so many people I love have been going through so much more pain than me this month. What is it with March this year?
I hope to only grow stronger from the trials and challenges that I go through. Although, we all know how much easier said than done that is. Lucky for me, I have the most strong people in my life that set that example for me.
I have a sister in law who takes on 5 kids every moment of every day, from taking the twins to the dentist or problems potty training- and she does it with grace. I have a sister in law whose In Vitro didn't take, after all of the pain- discipline- and trips to the ER she had to go through- and yet she is filled with strength, wisdom and Christ in her spirit. I have a sister who spends every day with forty 12 year olds- crazy 12 year olds, and yet never fails to wake up each morning and fulfill her job and duty to educate those kids. I have a sister in law who has conquered multiple kidney stones WHILE she is pregnant and having complications- and still puts other peoples problems and worries before hers. I have a cousin who has one physically painful problem after the next- yet you would never know, because she is always smiling and making sure those around her are happy and healthy. I have a cousin who has been through hell and back, and is raising 2 beautiful girls that will grow up and do amazing things.
I have a mother who is the strongest person I know. No matter what comes her way, she handles it with pure finesse. It is because of her, I am able to get through all of the things that I go through. Why? Because she always directs people straight to Christ. I have never met someone with so much faith. I truly hope that I can be like her one day.
The thing that all of these women have in common that has touched me, is that they all go through each day and each trial- with faith.
All of my little hearts prayers go out to all of my family who have been hurting in some way. Hopefully April will bring better days!
I'm so thankful for all the wonderful people that I have in my life, to get me through the hard times. The pain. The sadness and the loss.

{Little bit of an Update}
Is it just me, or did FEBRUARY fly? Seriously, I didn't even once go to Subway and get a FebruANY deal!
Cam and I had a great Valentines day. It was made up of a little bit of Del Taco, flowers, sexy notes, and an amazing Italian Dinner. Thanks baby!
The last few weekends have been so crazy but so fun for Cam and I- mostly, because we were able to spend a lot of time with family! FAMILY FAMILY FAMILY - music to my ears.
For Presidents day weekend, we had the opportunity to go to Utah and spend time with my family. Let's be honest- we were at the cabin the whole time playing in the snow! It was so fun to relax and ride snowmobiles (I drove one for the first time- basically straight into the (frozen) pond) and play with the little ones. We got to spend time with our best friends Kalee and Dave, which is always a highlight! We got to meet Mitt Romney, which was really cool and such a great opportunity. Of course, going to the 2 Jazz games made my weekend! I've missed them.
We are so blessed for all of the wonderful people we have in our lives.
The next weekend, Mark, Terri, Carli and Chris were up at Disneyland- and Cam and I went up to meet them for a couple of days. Disney is ALWAYS a good idea. DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY- again, music to my ears. We had such a fun time with them. As some of you know- Cam has been a bit "injured" the last few weeks, and we justified putting him in a wheelchair and Disneyland. Yeah, I know what you're all thinking- but honestly.. we didn't even get to the front of any lines right away. Except Little Mermaid. It wasn't worth it, atleast for me and Chris who had to push the 210 pound man in the chair all over Disney! HA! Good times. Idiots. I think the highlight was running into Kenyon Martin and him totally thinking he knew who Cam was. We always love seeing family and visitors!
This last week, Cam's family stayed at their time share in Carlsbad- at the beach. We were able to go and spend some time with them down there. It was absolutely gorgeous down there, with the beautiful sunsets and the delicious dinners Cheri made each night! We had a lot of fun being able to go down and spend time with them there.
This last weekend, we met my parents, Matt & Kay, Jenna and her friend Kim in VEGAS. Not so much music to my ears (It's VEGAS) HOWEVER- it really was so much fun meeting up with the fam for the not-so-good BYU game, and staying at the magical Venetian hotel. That place is seriously incredible! We had a lot of fun shopping around and riding a limo to Old Vegas ! haha good times.
As cam and I were checking out of the hotel, the woman clarifies "3 long distance phone calls from the hotel room" at a cost of 35$. Cam looks to me in disbelief, as he then realizes I did make those calls. As I was sitting on the toilet (of course they put a phone in there) I thought it'd be funny to call Cam on his cell and say hello. 3 times. By the way- he was in the other room. Why didn't anybody tell me they charge for that! Gee. It's not like I called to India. 2 of the calls didn't even go through. Jerks! I felt so terribly stupid, but mostly bad that I did that and wasted money. I'm so thankful for Cam that all he could do really- was laugh it off. Good times.
Cam and I made the trip well worth it, by listening to The Hunger Games on tape, there and back. We can't wait for the movie to come out! We're kind of nerds. It's always hard to say goodbye at the end of trips to see my family. Until next time.

{Home is Where You Are}
What a wonderful winter it has been so far, here in SO CAL. I could definitely get used to this so called "Winter." Although, it's great to hear that Utah has FINALLY been hit with the blizzard they've been waiting for! -Makes for a great cabin trip next week! Woo hoo!
Here's an update on what's been going on with the Harris nerds lately.
We've been having so much fun remodeling our little condo here and there over time. Our place came with a fridge, that works just great and looks fine too. However, after the first couple of weeks of using it- the door stopped closing. That is a problem.. right? Well when we wake up in the morning to find our milk is sour.. it is a definite problem. So for a few weeks, we taped it shut over, and over and over again. Once we went through several roles of tape, and came to find out that the milk (not to mention everything else that went bad) was STILL getting sour (by the tape not doing the trick). We then realized we needed to get a new fridge. We were bummed, because that's the last thing we want to spend our money on right now, besides bills and taxes of course.
Luckily, I have a wonderfully creative mother in law who came to the rescue! She though of the idea of buying a baby lock that mommys use to keep their kids out of the fridge. At first we weren't too sure how it'd work or LOOK.. but we were desperate for anything to NOT have to buy a new fridge. She bought us one and we tried it out- and I was SO excited how it works perfectly! It keeps the fridge shut, and doesn't look too bad in fact! Ha Ha. We saved tons of money- and I don't have to worry about waking up and walking downstairs to find that all of our food has gone bad over night! HALLELUJAH!
Another problem was, our oven didn't come with racks. Dang. I didn't realized you can't just go to the store and pick out some racks. You have to order them through a company that has your brand and get the exact model number and size to fit. The first time we ordered some online from New Hampshire or some place over there.. and of course they were way too big. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way how to do certain random things, I guess. In the mean time, we had been using some little cooling racks to place things on in the oven. Of course every time we would try to make something, the bottom of whatever it was would be completely burnt.
Well, I'm happy to tell you- we finally found a way to order the right size for our oven.. and we NOW have OVEN RACKS! 'CLAP CLAP CLAP!' We've been cooking + baking like crazy- JUST BECAUSE WE CAN! Good times.
Cam and I attended a party his mom held for their neighbors who recently got married. It was funny because we were the youngest couple there. We got ourselves into playing a Newly Wed Game. Yeah.. I was nervous for us too. However, we ended up winning! Our opponents were the couple that just got married (they've been together for 10 yrs or so) and a older couple.. quite older that recently got married as well. We won! We won a crock pot- Heck Yeah!
Things are well. The weather is beautiful. We have been so blessed.

{We Love Visitors}
It has been SO great having visitors often! Last week, my parents came to visit for a few days- which was a lot of fun. I always love when they come to visit.. it takes the edge off of the homesickness :) We went to the BYU vs USD game down here with Cam's family. That was a lot of fun- BYU killed em' of course!
It's almost time for our home to be inspected, and so while they were visiting, I needed to go into the city and talk to the inspector about a couple of things, before 5 PM. My mom was so kind to offer to come with me for moral support. We left the house at about 4:15. So, we live about 15 minutes away from the building we needed to go to- and I didn't have much gas in my car. I should've taken my dads car- well, I shouldn't have let my gas get that low.. period, but (famous last words) "I thought I had enough gas to get us there." So mom and I jump in the car, and are on our way. As we get about 10 minutes away from home, and 5 minutes away from the place.. well, I'm sure you can guess what happens now- my car starts stalling and just like in the movies.. we feel it jerking forward and back trying hard to go but then BAM- stops immediately as I'm hurrying to the side of the road. OF COURSE. We couldn't of ran out of gas in a worse spot. It was a really busy road, and a complete blind spot right as you turn a corner. Mom tells me to get out of the car right away, so that if we got hit- we wouldn't be stuck in the car. So- there we were, standing on the side walk, with my car out of gas with the flashers on. I was counting how many times cars had to cut each other off and almost nail my car, to get out of the way of it. We call dad (back at my house) and no answer. I called Cam's family.. no answer. LUCKILY dad called us back a few minutes later, and told us he'd come rescue us. At this point, I was hoping we'd still make it to the inspector by 5.
Dad pulls up behind our car, dodging all of the crazy traffic of course, with a police man pulling up right behind him. 2 things were going through my mind at this point. One, someone must've called the police saying there's 2 helpless women on the side of the road in need of some sort of help. Two, my car is NOT registered NOR inspected yet. Hm.. what is going to happen in all of this? Dad gets out as well as the cop, saying he saw that we are in such a dangerous spot, and wanted to help us. Luckily he was very nice and helpful. After moments of talking through options of getting the gas to us, while I'm trying to stand in front of my license plate to block the officer's view of my expired registration, my dad drove off to the gas station and filled my empty gas tank I had in my trunk (Yes, I have been in this situation before.) So, I figure I'd just leave my trunk open so the (now 2) officers won't see my plates. After the 2nd officer pulls up- mom and I are laughing because it looks like a drug bust- and the cops are having to literally stand in the road to direct traffic not to hit our car.
After about 40 minutes of being there- I looked to mom and said, "I don't think we're going to make it to the inspector today."
I'm an Idiot.
I was so thankful to have my parents there with me. I know my dad just wanted to lecture me and get upset (because let's be honest, I should know by now to always keep gas in my tank) but he was so sweet and helpful.
When dad came back with the gas, him and the officer put it in my car.. and we thanked them as I discretely closed my trunk and got in my car and was on my way. Phew. That was a close one. I dodged several bullets in that unpleasant situation. Don't worry, I learned my lesson- OK, OK, LESSONS. Thankfully, I made it to the gas station and filled up.
RULE #1- Don't run your gas to the very LAST TEENY EENCY LITTLE DRIP.
Despite that unfortunate mishap, we had a wonderful time with my parents here. Cam got a new gun recently, as well as my dad. My dad brought them from Utah- so we all decided to go shooting at the range, and try them out! It was a lot of fun. I've been to the range a couple of times with Cam, and love it! I'm glad I'm learning how to handle and shoot a gun- I just hope I won't have to ever use it.
Mom and Dad and I went to the Safari Park in San Diego. It was really quite cool! We rode a caravan ride through all the animals and they would all come up to us and want to eat us basically. It was really fun, a lot different than a regular Zoo. We kept saying how much the kiddies would LOVE this! Hopefully we can take them one day too.
We got to watch a cheetah run at full speed. Pretty amazing.

{A Magical Christmas}
Is there a better way to spend our first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs. then in NYC the week before the holidays, followed by an AMAZING week spent at home in Utah with my incredible family and friends? I think not. Nope. Heck no. Negativo.
It was such a great opportunity for Cam and I to be able to meet my parents out in NYC to watch them appear on the Today Show, for 4Life's wonderful donation to Toys-for-Tots. Cam and I were able to head out there a few days earlier than them, and enjoy the beautiful city that never sleeps! We had so much fun, and honestly.. we could easily move there! If.. we had the money, and a reason.. I guess those are 2 pretty important factors! It's just such a different, amazing feeling being in that city- like no other city. We were on our feet all day everyday, trying not to let a minute go to waste while we were there! We explored the island of Manhattan from uptown to downtown.
We saw Wicked on Broadway, as well as Phantom of the Opera. They were both absolutely incredible! I think our favorite was going to the Radio City Rockettes show, with my parents. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, on the verge of tears! I hope one day our whole family will be able to go back and see that amazing show- the kids would absolutely LOVE it! We had the opportunity to go onto the set of the Today Show, and meet Kathie Lee and Hoda, as my parents appeared on the show. My parents did an exceptional job on the show, I was so proud! It was so fun watching the whole thing behind the scenes! It's crazy how the set is SO much smaller than it looks on TV. What an amazing trip that will forever be cherished!
It had officially been 3 months (yeah well- it seems like a long time to me) since I had been home in Utah- and let's just say it felt SO good to see all of my family! I went a week earlier than Cam, so he could finish working for the week- and I could spend more time with the fam. It was so great to see the little kiddies, and my family and friends. What a wonderful Christmas- spent up at the cabin. Who would've thought Santa would even come THERE?! He sure did.. pulled up on a snowmobile! Dang straight, we don't mess around! I miss mom's Italian sodas, and Tanya and Jon's music, and chaos with so many people and kids, and riding the snowmobiles through those beautiful aspens, and riding in the toboggan, and having precious Norah following me around, and seeing the kids priceless faces as Santa came in, and sledding for hours at a time, making human trains! YOU know WHO you ARE!

We missed Cam's family during Christmas too! I just wish we could all live in the same place, and everyone could be 5 minutes from each other! We feel so blessed to have such incredible, fun, adventurous, nerdy, amazing people in our lives. Let's be honest- we have the best families IN the world! Cam and I wish all the blessings in the world and beyond- to you and your families this new year!
It was such a great opportunity for Cam and I to be able to meet my parents out in NYC to watch them appear on the Today Show, for 4Life's wonderful donation to Toys-for-Tots. Cam and I were able to head out there a few days earlier than them, and enjoy the beautiful city that never sleeps! We had so much fun, and honestly.. we could easily move there! If.. we had the money, and a reason.. I guess those are 2 pretty important factors! It's just such a different, amazing feeling being in that city- like no other city. We were on our feet all day everyday, trying not to let a minute go to waste while we were there! We explored the island of Manhattan from uptown to downtown.
We saw Wicked on Broadway, as well as Phantom of the Opera. They were both absolutely incredible! I think our favorite was going to the Radio City Rockettes show, with my parents. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, on the verge of tears! I hope one day our whole family will be able to go back and see that amazing show- the kids would absolutely LOVE it! We had the opportunity to go onto the set of the Today Show, and meet Kathie Lee and Hoda, as my parents appeared on the show. My parents did an exceptional job on the show, I was so proud! It was so fun watching the whole thing behind the scenes! It's crazy how the set is SO much smaller than it looks on TV. What an amazing trip that will forever be cherished!

It had officially been 3 months (yeah well- it seems like a long time to me) since I had been home in Utah- and let's just say it felt SO good to see all of my family! I went a week earlier than Cam, so he could finish working for the week- and I could spend more time with the fam. It was so great to see the little kiddies, and my family and friends. What a wonderful Christmas- spent up at the cabin. Who would've thought Santa would even come THERE?! He sure did.. pulled up on a snowmobile! Dang straight, we don't mess around! I miss mom's Italian sodas, and Tanya and Jon's music, and chaos with so many people and kids, and riding the snowmobiles through those beautiful aspens, and riding in the toboggan, and having precious Norah following me around, and seeing the kids priceless faces as Santa came in, and sledding for hours at a time, making human trains! YOU know WHO you ARE!
We missed Cam's family during Christmas too! I just wish we could all live in the same place, and everyone could be 5 minutes from each other! We feel so blessed to have such incredible, fun, adventurous, nerdy, amazing people in our lives. Let's be honest- we have the best families IN the world! Cam and I wish all the blessings in the world and beyond- to you and your families this new year!
